Acupuncture Overview
Restore the harmony of the body, the mind and the spirit.
Acupuncture is a Traditional Eastern Medicine practised in China, Japan, and Korea. It is an ancient healing therapy. For more than 2,000 years we have responded positively to the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body.

Re-invigorate and renew
A wide range of people use Acupuncture from children to the elderly. Some women use it for support through Family Planning and pregnancy. It is used by those at the peak of their physical abilities, such as elite athletes, and those with chronic illnesses, as well as those in palliative care.
Acupuncture is widely used alongside Western Medicine and other therapies. It can help you re-invigorate and renew; it can alleviate pain; it can improve your mental health.
Acupuncture can help with a range of conditions including:
- Anxiety, Depression and Stress
- Aches and Pains
- Insomnia and Fatigue
- Hormonal, Menopausal and Menstrual issues
- Family Planning
- Chronic Illnesses
- Digestive issues
- Arthritis and Osteoathritis
- Headaches and Migraines
- Muscular Problems
- Long Covid
- General Well-being

Acupuncture is more than just needles.
It is one aspect of Chinese Medicine which includes further techniques such as Cupping, Gua Sha, Korean Auricular Acupuncture, Moxa and Qi Gong. All of these techniques may be used as part of your treatment. I also advise on Diet and Lifestyle.
Whereas Western Medicine looks to diagnose and then treat a presenting symptom Eastern Medicine commences with a search for the underlying cause of any condition. Acupuncture can be used when our bodies’ systems are out of balance. It can be beneficial to overall health and well-being. Many people find it a relaxing treatment. I have discovered for myself the huge benefits of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine upon mental, emotional and physical health, and general well-being.

What happens during treatment?
During your Initial Appointment I will take a detailed medical history, read your pulses and look at your tongue. I may examine the site of your pain and symptoms. A treatment plan will be based on the state of your health and lifestyle. When commencing treatment I normally would advise a course of around five future treatments as Acupuncture has an accumulative effect, but this can vary. Fundamentally, I will be treating you, not just the presenting condition, so the treatment plan will be unique to you.
